What paid placement cannot buy

Being clear about this is the reason families trust the directory, which is the reason a listing here is worth anything.

• Prices. Payment never changes, hides, or adds a price we publish, and it never changes the source label on a price. Every provider can submit and verify pricing at the free tier.
• Price comparisons. Our city price tables sort by price, cheapest first, with no paid term in the ordering.
• Referrals. We do not take a commission, a success fee, or any payment tied to whether a family buys something. A paid listing is a flat monthly fee and nothing else.
• Where a family's request goes. A family chooses the provider they want to contact. Paying us does not route a request to you that a family did not address to you.

What paid placement does buy is position in city directory listings. Where your listing is placed ahead of others it carries a Sponsored label and sits under a notice saying the order is paid. It does not affect the compare tool or search results, which are ordered without regard to who has paid. Position is not a quality ranking.
